Archeological day
Started to head south today. First stop, Segesta. A gorgeous Greek temple of vast proportions sitting all alone out in a field surrounded by wildflowers. And of course an ampitheatre where classical plays are still performed in summer season.
And then we were on the road again to Selinunte on the south coast of Sicily. This is another Greek temple, actually an entire series of temples to various of the Greek gods, though they don't really know to which ones because of earthquakes, etc. Beautiful day to wander around these incredible sites and ponder the engineering involved in erecting these monuments.
Made it to our stop for the night in San Leone - just a short walk from the shore!
